The operation was jointly conducted by the District Administration and the Bangladesh Road Transport Authority (BRTA) to prevent expired motor vehicles from operating on the district's roads and highways.

Assistant Commissioner and Executive Magistrate Md. Saiful Islam led the operation.

During the drive, Taka 4,500 was collected in fines from five cases filed for violations of various sections of the Road Transport Act, 2018.

Engineer K.M. Mahbub Kabir, Assistant Director of the BRTA, said the raids will continue to ensure discipline on the roads. He added that banning old vehicles will help reduce road accidents, decrease environmental pollution, and make travel safer for the public.
