334 river erosion-affected families get rice in Gaibandha

GAIBANDHA, Sept 13, 2025 (BSS) - A total of 334 river erosion-affected families of Holdia union under Saghata upazila in the district received rice assistance from the government on Friday.

The rice was distributed from the temporary office of the Union Parishad (UP), with each family receiving 30 kilograms as general relief.

UP Chairman Rafiqul Islam formally distributed the rice among the affected families.

To ease their suffering, he sought food assistance from the upazila administration on behalf of the affected families, he said.

In response, the upazila administration approved and allocated the rice as general relief for the erosion-hit families.
