Two killed in Sunamganj road crash

SUNAMGANJ, Sept 13, 2025 (BSS) - Two motorcycle riders were killed when a private car hit their motorbike in the Joykals area under Shantiganj Upazila of the district this morning. 

The deceased were Jewel Mia, 35, son of Wahid Ali of Saudergaon village of Doarabazar Police Station and Shabdar Ali, 37, son of late Abdur Razzak, a resident of Hasannagar Mainar Point in Sunamganj municipality.

The accident occurred on the Sylhet-Sunamganj highway around 11:30 am when a private car hit a motorcycle coming from opposite direction, leaving bike rider Jewel dead on the spot and injuring its pillion rider Shabdar Ali, said Sumon Kumar Chowdhury, Officer-in-Charge of Joykalas Highway Police Station. 

Injured Shabdar Ali died on the way to Sunamganj Sadar Hospital.
