MAGURA, Sept 14, 2025 (BSS) - A retired police officer was killed in a road accident when a bus hit him at Ekkta Kacha Bazar of the district town here on Saturday evening.

The deceased was Fazlur Rahman, 75, a resident of Pitiapara area of the town.

The accident occurred around 7:00 pm when he was crossing the road.

Locals rescued him and sent to Magura 250-bed Hospital where the on-duty doctor declared him dead.

Md. Alamgir Hossain, Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Magura Ramnagar Highway Police Station confirmed the matter and said the involved vehicle in the accident has been seized, but the driver managed to flee.
