Four held with 174 kg ganja in Natore

NATORE, Sept 14, 2025 (BSS) – Detective Branch (DB) of police in separate drives arrested four people with 174 kg ganja from Banbelgharia Paschim Bypass area of ??the town here this morning.

The arrested are Md. Lalon, 25, son of Mazur and Md. Saberul Islam Shahid, 35, son of Saidur Rahman, residents of Sheikhtola Mahalla under Shibganj upazila in Chapainawabganj district, Abdul Wadud, 25, son of Dulal Uddin and Md. Foser Ali Sohel, 29, son of late Bahar Ali, residents of Bhagrail village under Nachol upazila of the same district.

Based on intelligence information, a DB police team set up a check post at Banbelgharia Paschim Bypass at 5.30 am and intercepted a truck. The DB police team seized the 160 kg ganja from the truck and arrested two people in this connection. They are Lalon and Shahid.

Besides, another check post was set up in the same area around 6.30 am and Wadud and Sohel were arrested with 14 kg ganja from a passenger bus.

Two separate cases were filed with Natore Sadar Police Station in these connections, said Officer-in-Charge of Natore Sadar Police Station Mahbur Rahman.
