Schoolboy electrocuted in Meherpur

MEHERPUR, Sept 14, 2025 (BSS) - A schoolboy died from electrocution at Kazipur-Mathpara village under Gangni upazila of the district this morning.

The deceased was identified as Rabbi Hossain, 11, son of Keramat Ali of the same village and a fourth-grade student of the local government primary school.

Rabbi got electrocuted when he came into contact with a leakage electric wire while opening the door of their house to go to school, said Gangni Police Station Officer-in-Charge (OC) Bani Israel, quoting the deceased's family members.

Locals rescued him and took him to a nearby clinic where the doctor on duty declared him dead.
