2 held with 44 kg hemp in Ctg

CHATTOGRAM, Sept 25, 2025 (BSS) – Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) arrested two drug traders with 44 kg of hemp from the Munsef Bazar Kalibari area under Patiya upazila of the district last night.

The arrestees are Md. Roni, son of Md. Jamal, of Raghupur area under Sadar Dakshin Police Station in Cumilla district, and Md. Kamal, son of Fatik Mia, of Natapara area under Chauddagram Police Station.

RAB-7 Senior Assistant Director (Media) ARM Mozaffar Hossain said RAB received information that cannabis was being transported from Cumilla to Cox's Bazar on Wednesday night. Acting on the tip-off, RAB set up a checkpoint in the Munsef Bazar Kalibari area of Patiya municipality around 11:30 pm and searched a pickup truck.

During the search, 44 kg of hemp was found hidden among raw vegetables. The detainees were later handed over to Patiya Police Station.
