MYMENSINGH, Sept 25, 2025 (BSS) - On the occasion of Sharadiya Durga Puja,
Bangladesh Jatiyatabadi Dal distributed financial assistance to 60 temples
under Mymensingh Kotwali Thana today.
Kotwali Thana BNP and the Puja Celebration Front jointly organized the
distribution event at the Mymensingh Press Club auditorium and financial
assistance were handed over to temple organizers by Md Roknuzzaman Sarkar,
Member Secretary of BNP South District.
Kotwali BNP Convener Helal Ahmed, Member Secretary Ataharul Islam Bulbul,
Joint Convener Yahia Hossain, and leaders from both BNP and the Puja
Celebration Front were present on the occasion.
Speaking at the event, Roknuzzaman Sarkar said BNP believes in communal
harmony and stands beside all communities to ensure peaceful and festive
celebration of Durga Puja. "We are working to build a nation free from
discrimination, where no one is judged by their religion," he said, adding
the distribution was held on behalf of BNP's Acting Chairman Tarique Rahman.
He criticized the use of the term 'minority,' saying it politically alienates
citizens. "BNP doesn't believe in labeling anyone as a minority. We are all
Bangladeshis."
He added that BNP leaders and activists at all levels will remain active in
ensuring a joyous and peaceful celebration of Durga Puja this year.
