KHULNA, Oct 16, 2025 (BSS) - Police arrested three alleged criminals and seized firearms ammunition and two motorcycles reportedly used in criminal activities in Khulna yesterday.

The arrestees were identified as Shamim Hossain, 26, of Rupsha upazila in Khulna; Sumon Hawlader, 30, of Morrelganj upazila; and Sheikh Shahruk Ahmed, alias Shanto, 26, of Rajapur upazila in Bagerhat.

The arrests followed a shooting incident on Monday night in the Nirala Residential Area, where miscreants opened indiscriminate fire on an individual, injuring two pedestrians. 

Khondokar Hossain Ahmed, assistant deputy commissioner of Khulna Metropolitan Police, confirmed the matter last night.

Acting swiftly, a team from Khulna Sadar Police Station conducted an operation and apprehended the suspects from different parts of the city.

Police recovered two live bullets, a used cartridge shell, and two motorcycles from the suspects. A case has been filed under the Arms Act at Khulna Police Station.
