Three held with 44 kg hemp in Cumilla

CUMILLA, Oct 16, 2025 (BSS) - Members of Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) in separate drives arrested three people and recovered 44 kg of hemps and 50 bottles of Eskuf syrup from Cumilla Adarsh Sadar upazila this morning.

The arrested were Md. Arif, 28, son of Md. Rashid of Sharifpur village in Adarsha Sadar upazila, Md. Iman Hossain, 59, son of late Kafil Uddin of Pathuria village, and Md. Roni, 28, son of Md. Anwar Hossain of Lalpur village in Feni Sadar upazila.

A team of RAB-11 conducted a drive in Jagannathpur area of the upazila at 8 am and arrested three people with 35 kg of marijuana and a private car, said Major Sadman Ibne Alam, Company Commander of RAB-11, Cumilla.

In another drive, the RAB team seized 50 bottles of Eskuf syrup and nine and a half kg of marijuana from Noagaon area of Cumilla Sadar Dakshin upazila.

Major Sadman Ibne Alam said that the operation was conducted as part of RAB-11's continuous anti-drug operation. Legal action has been taken against the arrested people. RAB-11 will continue its operation to prevent drugs in the future.
