KHULNA, Oct 16, 2025 (BSS) - Bangladesh Navy has arrested two individuals involved in a fraudulent racket linked to the ongoing sailor and MODC (NAVY) recruitment for the A-2026 batch.

Acting on a tip-off, Bangladesh Navy conducted operations at Khulna Hotel, Hotel Dhanshiri, and Hotel Society under Sadar Police Station on Wednesday and arrested two members of the fraud circle - Ashikur Rahman and Md. Bashir Uddin, according to an ISPR release today.

During the drive, the Navy team also recovered fake question papers, answer sheets, signed blank cheques, and other documents from Room No. 20 of Hotel Society, which the fraud group had used as their office. The team also rescued 16 candidates who had been cheated by the group.

In addition, evidence was found against the fraud group for supplying fake questions and answer sheets related to the recruitment process. The fraud ring lured victims with promises of jobs in exchange for Taka 10-15 lakh and took signed blank cheques and stamp papers, the release added.

Later, the arrestees were handed over to Khulna Sadar Police Station for further legal action.

The sailor and MODC (NAVY) recruitment for the A-2026 batch in Bangladesh Navy has been ongoing since October 9. The recruitment process is highly transparent, and there is no scope for recruitment through financial transactions.

Fraudulent groups sometimes attempt to defraud job seekers by illegally offering them positions in exchange for money.

However, with close monitoring by Navy personnel, proper management of the recruitment process, and the use of modern technology, such illegal and malicious activities can be prevented in most cases.

In this regard, the public is urged to be cautious of fraudsters.
