‘Educational institutions must make playgrounds suitable for sports’

NARSINGDI, Oct 22, 2025 (BSS) – To promote sports activities in Narsingdi, Deputy Commissioner Md Anwar Hossain has directed all educational institutions in the district to make their playgrounds suitable for sports.

In this regard, an official letter will be sent to every educational institution in the district, he said.

He gave the directive during the first meeting of the District Sports Association held today at the conference room of the Deputy Commissioner’s office.

At the meeting, several decisions were taken to improve the standard of sports in the district in line with the programs of the National Sports Council (NSC).

The district sports officer was instructed to prepare a list to ensure proper distribution of sports equipment received from the NSC.

To ensure transparency in organizing sports events, budget formulation, and expenditure management, an internal audit committee has been formed under the District Sports Association.

In addition, the DC instructed officials to review whether due procedures were followed in allocating shops within the stadium premises.

Among others, Additional Deputy Commissioner Abu Taher Md Shamsuzzaman, District Sports Officer Farzana Akter Sathi, and District Sports Association members Awlad Hossain Molla, Zahidul Kabir Bhuiyan, Towhidur Rahman, Abdul Kaiyum Molla, Md Nazmul Alam, and Rafiqul Islam Sujon were present.
