Man held for allegedly killing wife in Khulna

KHULNA, Oct 23, 2025 (BSS) - Police today detained a man for allegedly killing his wife in the city. 

The victim was identified as Dolly Begum, 45, daughter of late Abdul Aziz at Shanta village in Paikgachha upazila in the district. 

Officer-in-Charge of Labanchora Police Station Sanwar Hossain Masum said Nazmul Hasan, 50, a mason by profession, attacked his wife Dolly with a fruit-cutting knife while she was asleep at a rented house in Sabujpalli area near 4 No Kashem Road under Labanchora Police Station in Khulna city. She died on the spot.

Locals rushed to the house around 5:30am after hearing screams and found Dolly lying in a pool of blood. Nazmul tried to flee but was caught by a neighbour rickshaw-puller Arif and handed over to police. 

The couple has a 25-year-old son and a 22-year-old daughter.
