"17th International Scientific Conference 2025" of CVASU to begin on Sunday

CHATTOGRAM, Oct 23, 2025 (BSS)- The three-day "17th International Scientific 
Conference 2025" of Chattogram Veterinary and Animal Sciences University 
(CVASU) is set to begin here. 

The conference, funded by the university's One Health Institute, Poultry 
Research and Training Center, and the Fleming Fund, will take place from 
October 26 to 28. 

The theme of this year's conference is "Interdisciplinary coordination of 
terrestrial and aquatic ecosystems for improving health, food security, and 
nutrition".

CVASU Vice-Chancellor (VC) Professor Dr. Mohammad Lutfar Rahman, announced 
the details of the conference at a press briefing this afternoon. 
 
The conference will focus on research, innovation, and international 
cooperation, with over 500 researchers from various universities and research 
institutions in Bangladesh, India, Nepal, Vietnam, Thailand, and the United 
Kingdom (UK) expected to participate. 

Approximately 160 research papers will be presented during the three-day 
event.
 
The conference will feature displays from the university's One Health 
Institute, Poultry Research and Training Center, Veterinary Hospital, and 
around 20 departments. Pharmaceutical companies, feed companies, and 
hatcheries will also be participating in its different stalls. 

It will cover seven sub-themes, including Animal and Poultry Management, Blue 
Economy, Food Security and Processing, Livestock Development through Genetic 
Tools, Pet and Wildlife Healthcare, One Health Management and Innovation in 
Research.
 
The opening ceremony will be attended by the Education Advisor Professor Dr. 
Chowdhury Rafiqul Abrar as the chief guest on October 26 while Advisor to the 
Ministry of Fisheries and Livestock Farida Akhtar will address the closing 
ceremony as the chief guest on October 28.

CVASU VC Mohammad Lutfar Rahman will preside over the conference.
 
Other notable attendees Prof Dr. AKM Saifuddin, Prof Dr. Mohammad Rashedul 
Alam and Prof Mizanur Rahman will present at the press conference.
