2 female arrested with 20 KG hemp in Ctg

CHATTOGRAM, Oct 23, 2025 (BSS)- Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) arrested two female bus passengers with 19.5 kg of hemp at Mirsarai today. 

The arrested females were identified as Rashida (38), daughter of Naju Mia from Konapara in Cox's Bazar district, and Rokeya Begum (36), daughter of Saleh Ahmed from Alankar Moore area in the city. 

RAB-7 Assistant Director (Media) ARM Mozaffar Hossain said the operation was carried out Wednesday evening based on secret information.

The two female drug peddlers were travelling from Cumilla to Chattogram in a bus of Dulali Paribahan.

Rab team intercepted the bus at a check post near Seba Adhunik Hospital on the Dhaka-Chattogram highway in Mirsarai Bazar. During the search, Rashida and Rokeya were apprehended as they attempted to escape during the search in the bus.

A total of 19.5 kg of hemp valued approximately Taka one lakh 90 thousand, was seized from them. The arrested females were handed over to Mirsarai thana.
