DHAKA, Oct 23, 2025 (BSS) - Afghanistan and Turkmenistan men's national
volleyball teams recorded victories in their respective matches in the CAVA
Cup Men's held at the Shaheed Suhrawardy Indoor Stadium in Mirpur today
(Thursday).

Afghanistan cruised to a 3-0 win over the Maldives men's national volleyball
team, taking the sets 25-17, 25-20 and 25-12. Star of the day for Afghanistan
was Mohammad Shah Badoon, who netted the match-best honours.

Meanwhile, Turkmenistan overcame the SriLanka men's national volleyball team
in four fiercely-fought sets 25-22, 25-16, 20-25 and 25-20 with Serdar
Durdyyev earning the match-best award.

These wins follow host nation Bangladesh men's national volleyball team's
commanding 3-0 opening day triumph over Maldives, which served notice that
the home side intend to fight their way back into competitive form.

Turkmenistan's strength and Afghanistan's composed win suggest both squads
are finely tuned for the battles ahead. Sri Lanka's close defeat tonight
means they must regroup quickly if they are to stay in contention.

With the tournament running until October 28 and featuring six nations
(Bangladesh, Maldives, Sri Lanka, Nepal, Turkmenistan and Afghanistan), the
stakes are high. Each team is vying not only for the regional crown but also
for validation and momentum on the international stage.
