3 held with 51 kg ganja in Fatikchhari

CHATTOGRAM, Oct 27, 2025 (BSS) - Members of Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) arrested three persons with 51 kilograms of ganja from a house in Fatikchhari upazila of the district on Sunday evening.

RAB-7 Assistant Director (Media) ARM Mozaffar Hossain confirmed the arrest today.

The detainees were identified as Md Nurannabi, 43, son of late Mostafa , Md Abul Bashar, 27, son of Md Abul Hashem , and Md Abdul Karim, 30, son of Md Abdul Rahim - all residents of the Chikanchhara area under Baganbazar Union of Bhujpur Police Station.

Acting on a tip-off, a RAB team conducted a raid at a house belonging to Ahidur Rahman Sawdagar in Chikanchhara area and recovered the ganja kept in three plastic bags hidden under a bed.

The estimated market value of the seized ganja is around Taka 8 lakh, RAB sources said.

The arrested persons were later handed over to Bhujpur Police Station for legal action.
