KHULNA, Nov 5, 2025 (BSS)- Members of Rapid Action Battalion (RAB)-6 have arrested a fugitive accused from Jashore district in a rape case of a speech-impaired child in Rangpur. 

Acting on a tip-off, a joint team of RAB-6, RAB-1, and RAB-13 conducted a raid at Chutipur Bazar area under Jhikargacha upazila in Jashore last night (Tuesday night) and arrested the accused, Md. Masud Mia, 47. 

He was later handed over to Jashore Kotwali Model Police Station for legal action. 

Meanwhile, Khulna Police arrested a youth named Russel for allegedly raping a young woman in Bandabazar area under Labanchora Police Station in Khulna on Tuesday, Howlader Sanwar Hussain Masum, Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Labanchora police station confirmed.

The victim was sent to the One-Stop Crisis Centre (OCC) at Khulna Medical College Hospital. 

A case was filed under the Women and Children Repression Prevention Act in this connection, last night.
