Five members of same family killed in Chakoria road crash

COX'S BAZAR, Nov 5, 2025 (BSS) - Five passengers of a microbus, all members of the same family, were killed in a collision between a bus and the microbus in Chakoria upazila here in the district. Three others were injured in the accident.


The accident occurred around 9:00 am today at Dhala area of Fasiakhali on the Chattogram-Cox's Bazar highway.


Officer-in-Charge of Malumghat Highway Police Station, Mehedi Hasan, said a Chattogram-bound bus of Marsha Paribahan collided with a Cox's Bazar-bound microbus at the Dhala area of Fasiakhali on the Chattogram-Cox's Bazar highway. 


The microbus passengers were seriously injured and were taken to Malumghat Christian Memorial Hospital and Chakoria Upazila Health Complex. 


Three of them died at Malumghat Christian Memorial Hospital, while two at Chakoria Upazila Health Complex. Three others are receiving treatment.

Mehedi Hasan said the victims were members of the same family, adding that Aminul Haque from Chauddagram area of Cumilla was traveling to Cox's Bazar with his family members, but further details of deceaseds are not yet known. 


Both vehicles involved in the accident have been seized and taken to the highway police station, he said.
