PIROJPUR, Nov 5, 2025 (BSS) - Seeds and chemical fertilizers have been distributed among small and marginal farmers in Sadar upazila here.

The Department of Agricultural Extension (DAE) launched the distribution programme at Farmers Training Hall this morning of the upazila parishad for the fiscal year 2025-26 with the aim of increasing crops production. 

Upazila Nirbahi Officer S. M. Al-Amin was present as the chief guest at the inaugural programme jointly organized by the Upazila Administration and the Department of Agricultural Extension. 

Upazila Agriculture Officer Shawkat Hossain presided over the event.

At that time, the speakers said that this initiative of the government will play an important role in reducing the production costs of small and marginal farmers, increasing crop production and achieving self-reliance in agriculture. 

Later, seeds and chemical fertilizers of various crops including onion, moong dal, lentil, wheat, corn, peanut, soybean were distributed free of cost among the farmers.
