KHULNA, Nov 10, 2025 (BSS) - The 55th founding anniversary of the Institution of Diploma Engineers, Bangladesh (IDEB), and National Engineering Day were celebrated in Khulna today with colourful rallies and a discussion meeting.
Organized by the IDEB Khulna District Unit, the day began with a vibrant rally from Shibbari intersection to Shaheed Hadis Park, where engineers and students carried banners and festoons highlighting this year's theme - "Skilled manpower is the foundation of nation building."
Convener of the celebration committee Engineer Emdadul Haque Khan presided over the discussion, while Member Secretary Engineer Shibli Noman conducted it.
Acting Divisional Commissioner of Khulna Md. Firoz Shah attended as the chief guest. Among others, Principal of Khulna Polytechnic Institute Engineer Sheikh Mustafizur Rahman, Principal of Khulna Technical Training Centre Engineer Md. Ziaur Rahman, and IDEB leaders Engineer Selimul Azad and Engineer S.K. Mahmud Alam spoke as special guests.
Speakers stressed the need for transforming the country's large population into skilled manpower to achieve sustainable development. They emphasized expanding technical and vocational education to build Bangladesh.
