IU celebrates International Accounting Day with vibrant rally

ISLAMIC UNIVERSITY, Kushtia, Nov 10, 2025 (BSS) - Islamic University (IU) in Kushtia today celebrated International Accounting Day with a series of programmes organised by the Department of Accounting & Information Systems (AIS) in coordination with Bangladesh Accounting Association.

The day began with a colourful rally from the Faculty of Business Administration building this morning. Faculty members and students of the department marched through the main roads on the campus before concluding at the same location.

During the rally, Treasurer Professor Dr. Jahangir Alam, Professor Dr. Mizanur Rahman, Professor Dr. Abu Sina, Professor Dr. Kazi Akhtar Hossain, Professor Dr. Arbind Saha, Abdus Shahid Mia, Dr. Zakir Hossain, Professor Jamal Uddin, Assistant Professor Kamal Hossain, Israt Jahan, Nazmul Huda, Kamal Uddin and Jafar Ali participated while chairman of the department Professor Dr. Abdus Sabur led it. Meanwhile around 300 students from the AIS department joyfully participated in the event.

After the rally, the students said that the Accounting and Information Systems is one of the oldest departments of the university. Graduates from the department have been playing a significant role in the banking and professional sectors. The main purpose of our rally was to highlight the importance of accounting education and to inspire interest in this field among the young generation.

Professor Sabur said, "Our department has organised International Accounting Day as before. Every year we organise this event to inspire those working in related professions. We firmly believe that accounting is essential to ensuring accountability and transparency nationwide."
