Entrepreneur fair and pitha festival held in Naogaon

NAOGAON, Nov 10, 2025 (BSS) - A colorful Pitha Festival and Entrepreneur Fair was held in the district today as part of the Youth Festival celebrations, drawing enthusiastic participation from local entrepreneurs and residents.

Deputy Commissioner Mohammad Abdul Awal inaugurated the event at Sadar Upazila Parishad Auditorium on Monday morning as the chief guest. 

The fair was jointly organized by the District Women’s Affairs Office and the local administration.

Additional Deputy Commissioner Sadia Afrin, Additional Superintendent of Police (Sadar Circle) Mushfiqur Rahman, Sadar Upazila Nirbahi Officer Ibnul Abedin, Press Club President Raihan Alam and entrepreneur Kamrun Nahar also spoke at the inaugural ceremony, which was presided over by Amina Khatun, Deputy Director of the Women’s Affairs Office.

The festival featured around 50 varieties of traditional pitha and local delicacies prepared by women entrepreneurs. 

Popular items included bhapa pitha, patisapta, oil pitha, nakshi pitha, jhal pitha, chitai pitha, kuli pitha, jamai pitha, dal bara, dudh chitai, and coconut puli. Besides pithas, various pickles, handmade clothing, and other cottage industry products were displayed at the fair.

Organizers said the event aimed to promote local entrepreneurship and encourage new business ventures, while also preserving and celebrating the region’s traditional culinary heritage.
