KHULNA, Nov 17, 2025 (BSS) – A group of students and local residents distributed sweets in the city today following the announcement of a death sentence verdict against former Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina in a case related to crimes against humanity.

The programme was held at Shibbari Intersection, where participants demanded the swift execution of the verdict against Sheikh Hasina and Asaduzzaman Khan Kamal.

Speaking to BSS, July fighter and student representative Ahmad Hamim Rahat said that participants expressed satisfaction over the verdict, and some distributed sweets as part of their reaction.

Meanwhile, on Sunday night, an announcement was made at the same location about a shoe-throwing programme targeting distorted images of Sheikh Hasina, which began around 11 a.m. today.

Since the morning, army patrols and additional police forces have been deployed at various strategic points in the city, including Shibbari Intersection, to maintain law and order. However, no untoward incidents were reported.
