Entrepreneur fair and pitha festival held in Bagerhat

BAGERHAT, Nov 20, 2025 (BSS) - A day-long Entrepreneur Fair, Pitha Festival and a cultural programmme of the Youth Club were held in Chitalmari upazila of the district as part of the Youth Festival-2025 with the slogan of "Come and change the country, change the world" to build a new Bangladesh.
 
The day-long festival held at the upazila parishad premises today.
 
Upazila Nirbahi Officer Md. Sajjad Hossain was present at the function as the chief guest with Upazila Women's Affairs Officer Md. Hafizur Rahman in the chair.
 
Local women entrepreneurs displayed their handicrafts, food products, local pitha and crafts at various stalls at the event. The festival took the form of a lively gathering to highlight the initiative, innovation and creativity of young entrepreneurs.
 
Members of the Youth Club enthralled the audience by performing songs, dances and recitations in the day-long cultural programme.
 
Upazila Agriculture Officer Agriculturist Sifat Al Maruf, Upazila Livestock Officer Md. Ahmed Iqbal, Upazila LGED Engineer Md. Saddam Hossain, DGM of Electricity Office Wadud Khandaker, Upazila Statistics Officer Joni Sarkar, Upazila Academic Supervisor Pradeep Kumar Bhowmik, BRDB Assistant Officer Humayun Kabir and former district anti-discrimination student movement leader Sheikh Rahman were present.
 
In his speech, UNO Md. Sajjad Hossain said “A new Bangladesh will be built by the hands of youth. Such fairs play an important role in creating entrepreneurs and developing local products.”
 
Md. Hafizur Rahman said, “Women and young entrepreneurs are the future of our economy. Their creativity must be utilized as the main force in building the country.”
