Blankets distributed in Tangail marking Tarique Rahman’s birthday

TANGAIL, Nov 22, 2025 (BSS) - More than 700 poor and helpless women received blankets in Tangail on Saturday afternoon, marking the 61st birthday of BNP Acting Chairman Tarique Rahman.
 
The blankets were distributed at Aloya Rajbari Government Primary School ground under Tangail Municipality.
 
The event was organized by the local BNP, with Central BNP Publicity Secretary Sultan Salauddin Tuku leading the distribution.
 
Speaking at the event, Tuku said they chose to celebrate Tarique Rahman’s birthday by doing something beneficial for the people.

 “It is a great joy to be able to stand beside the helpless people of society. We have prayed for our leader Tarique Rahman’s healthy return to the country. These blankets have been distributed so that the suffering of the poor during winter may be eased,” he said.
 
Former member secretary of the district BNP Mahmudul Haque Sanu, senior joint secretary of Tangail Sadar Upazila BNP Azim Uddin Biplob, along with local BNP leaders, activists, and prominent community members, were present at the event.
