Basic training for Ansar members begins in Khulna

KHULNA, Nov 23, 2025 (BSS) - Basic training for upazila and thana-level Ansar members under the Khulna Range began today at the Ilaipur Regional Ansar and VDP Training Centre.

A total of 100 participants have enrolled in the 14-day programme, inaugurated by Khulna Ansar Battalion Director Molla Abu Sayeed.

Khulna District Commandant Md. Minhaz Arefin chaired the opening session, which was attended by training officers Md. Tarikul Islam, Md. Saidur Rahman and other instructors.

Speaking as chief guest, Director Molla Abu Sayeed said the Bangladesh Ansar and VDP is advancing under the directive of the Director General to contribute to building an equitable society by transforming youth strength into social strength. 

He urged participants to show dedication and remain vigilant in carrying out election security duties.

He noted that Ansar members have always played a vital role in maintaining security during elections and briefed them on key instructions for safeguarding polling centres.

The director expressed confidence that the trained personnel would display professionalism and efficiency while performing responsibilities in the upcoming national elections.

Meanwhile, the sixth phase of upazila and thana-level basic Ansar training also began today in nine districts of the Khulna Division.
