
KHULNA, Nov 30, 2025 (BSS) – The eight-party alliance, led by Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami, will host a divisional rally in Khulna tomorrow (Monday) to press home their five-point demand.
The parties would also campaign for a “Yes” vote in the referendum on constitutional amendments, which is scheduled alongside the national election in early February, and simultaneously continue national election preparations, party leaders said.
Speaking at a press briefing at the Khulna Press Club, rally implementation committee convener and Jamaat-e-Islami central leader Professor Mahfuzur Rahman said the main rally will be held at Shibbari Babri Chattar at noon, with crowds expected to stretch across adjoining areas.
Organizers said that they expect around 1.5 to 2 lakh people to join their divisional rally tomorrow.
Professor Mahfuzur said that more than 150 sound horns, banners, festoons and billboards have been installed and over 5 lakh leaflets were distributed in recent days.
Jamaat Ameer Dr Shafiqur Rahman will address the rally as chief guest, while Charmonai Pīr and Islami Andolon Bangladesh Ameer Mufti Syed Muhammad Rezaul Karim will preside over the event.
A stage, two media platforms and multiple subcommittees have been arranged. Parking facilities have been prepared at several points in the city. Organisers hope the rally will be held peacefully.
Jamaat central working committee member Maulana Abul Kalam Azad, Islami Andolon leader Mufti Amanullah, Professor Maulana Abdullah Imran, Mufti Sharif Saidur Rahman, Advocate Abu Hanif, Nizamuddin Amit, FM Harun-or-Rashid and other senior leaders were present at the briefing.
