Election Olympiad held in Chandpur

CHANDPUR, Dec 5, 2025 (BSS) - An 'Election Olympiad' was held today in Chandpur as part of a program aimed at strengthening democracy, with participation from over a hundred newly registered voters.

The event was organized by The Hunger Project-Bangladesh and supported by the Citizens for Good Governance (SHUJAN) Chandpur District Committee. 

The Olympiad was officially inaugurated by Vice-Principal of Chandpur Government College, Prof. Habibur Rahman Miah. 

Addressing the new voters, he emphasized that their participation provides an opportunity to engage in key issues, including the electoral code of conduct, democratic values, transparency, accountability, and good governance.

He also noted that such initiatives would enrich participants' understanding and raise awareness among citizens.

Following the inauguration, a 30-minute examination with 50 multiple-choice questions was conducted in the college auditorium. 

The 10 participants who scored the highest marks were declared winners and awarded certificates. The top three scorers will have the opportunity to represent Chandpur in the National Olympiad.

The programme was presided over by SHUJAN Chandpur President Principal Mosharraf Hossain, while SHUJAN Regional Coordinator Nasir Uddin moderated the event. 

SHUJAN District Committee General Secretary Rahim Badsha, teacher Omar Faruk, organizer Salauddin, tax lawyer Abdullah Al Faruk, and local journalists including Alam Palash, Zakir Hossain, Shovon Al-Imran, Morshed Alam Rokon, Md. Masud Alam, and Shariful Islam were present at the event.
