KURIGRAM, Dec 13, 2025 (BSS) - The district administration has appointed 11 executive magistrates to operate mobile courts across the district to strict compliance with the election code of conduct ahead of the 13th national polls.

Deputy Commissioner Annapurna Debnath issued an office order on Friday appointing the magistrates for election-related duties. According to the order, the executive magistrates will remain active from December 12, 2025, to February 14, 2026.

The appointed magistrates will oversee mobile court operations in four parliamentary constituencies covering nine upazilas of the district.

Their primary responsibility is to maintain a peaceful electoral environment and ensure strict adherence to the election code of conduct by candidates, supporters and all concerned parties.

As per the office order, the Upazila Nirbahi Officers (UNOs) will coordinate overall election-related activities in their respective upazilas.

Confirming the matter, Deputy Commissioner Annapurna Debnath said the executive magistrates have already begun their duties.

"The appointed executive magistrates started working from Friday to maintain a peaceful election environment and ensure compliance with the code of conduct," she added.
