DHAKA, Dec 13, 2025 (BSS) - BNP Secretary General Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir's younger daughter Mirza Safaruh today sought vote for his father and 'Sheaf of Paddy', the electoral symbol of BNP.

"My father had to go to jail 11 times because of being with you. Just for doing politics and being by your side. My father is a politician, so we also had to travel a lot. Just as you have been tortured, we have also been tortured no less. Still, we want to see a better day. We want to see a beautiful time," she said.

Safaruh said these while addressing a courtyard meeting at Moheshkhali village in Thakurgaon Sadar upazila.

She said, "All of you should pray for my father and vote for him to make him victorious again."

Addressing the Hindus community, she said, "There are many mothers and sisters of Hindu community here. We are always by their side. My father used to take us to every temple in Thakurgaon during worship since we were children. We, Hindus and Muslims, have the mentality to live together."

Regarding the 'family card' for women, Safaruh said, "With this family card, a woman will be able to become financially independent. Everyone, including the poor and the needy, will get this card first. You can do a lot with it. You will gain respect in your family. You will get rice and pulses through this card. You should keep this in mind."

She said, "Half of us are women, we women raise our children and that is why our role is very important in this society. That is why we will vote for the 'Sheaf of Paddy'. You will pray for my father and definitely vote for the 'Sheaf of Paddy'.

Safaruh's mother Rahat Ara Begum, District Mohila Dal President Foratun Nahar Paris, General Secretary Nazma Parvin, and leaders and activists of Union BNP's and associate organizations were present.
