
RANGAMATI, Jan 10, 2026 (BSS)- Winter clothes were distributed among cold-stricken people in the district today under the initiative of the Nature and Life Club, in cooperation with the Bangladesh Army.
The distribution programme was held around 11:00 am in Majerbasti area of the district town. Rangamati Sadar Zone Commander Lt Col Md Ekramul Rahat, PSC, attended the event as the chief guest.
The ceremony was presided over by District Nature and Life Club Advisor Manoj Bahadur Gurkha, while the programme was moderated by the club's Chief Coordinator and journalist Mansur Ahmed.
Among others present on the occasion were Rangamati Reporters Unity President Sushil Prasad Chakma and General Secretary M Kamal Uddin, Rangamati Television Journalists Association President SM Shamsul Alam and General Secretary Satrang Chakma, Journalists Forum President Nandan Debnath and General Secretary Imtiaz Kamal Emon, Journalists Association President Saikat Ranjan Chowdhury, and Press Club Library and Publicity Secretary Milton Bahadur.
More than 200 underprivileged and cold-affected people received winter clothes during the programme.
Speakers at the event highlighted the importance of collective efforts to support vulnerable communities during the harsh winter season and appreciated the role of social organisations and the army in humanitarian activities.
