DHAKA, Jan 19, 2026 (BSS)- The Festival of Youth Baseball Development Training Camp was successfully held at Shaheed Abu Sayeed District Stadium in Rangpur today (Monday).

The Bangladesh Baseball-Softball Association (BBSA) organized the day-long camp with the overall support of the Rangpur District Sports Association.

A total of 40 emerging and talented players from Rangpur district participated in the training camp.

Through training, players are provided with hands-on training in basic baseball techniques, batting, throwing, fielding, catching, running, fitness training, and rules of the game. The training has been formally and successfully completed in Rangpur as the last division of the first phase of the ongoing year-long baseball development training programme initiated by BBSA.

In continuation of this programme, initial training camps will be successfully completed in twenty districts belonging to seven divisions of the country in the first phase by conducting training in Dinajpur district tomorrow (Tuesday) and Naogaon district on Wednesday (Jan 21).

BBSA provided necessary training materials including balls, bats, gloves and other items for the participating players. In addition, food allowances and necessary overall support for conducting training activities are also provided to the players.

BBSA firmly believes that organizing such training will spread baseball at the grassroots level in the country, create new talented players, and take Bangladesh one step ahead in building an international-standard team.
