
DINAJPUR, Feb 4, 2026 (BSS) - Members of the Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) seized firearms, ammunition and a large consignment of narcotics during a special operation along the Dinajpur frontier early today.
Acting on secret information, a team of the Fulbari Battalion (29 BGB) conducted a drive in the Gilabari border area under Kotwali Police Station around 3:25 am, according to a press release.
During the operation, BGB personnel recovered six bags from about 200 yards inside Bangladesh territory.
The seized items included two foreign-made one-shooter guns, four rounds of bullets, 100 bottles of Phensidyl, 500 pieces of narcotic injections, 25 bottles of foreign liquor and 27 bottles of Amlakul.
The release was signed by Lt Col AM Jaber Bin Jabbar, commander of the Fulbari Battalion (29 BGB).
BGB officials said the recovered contraband was seized as part of ongoing efforts to curb cross-border smuggling and ensure security along the frontier.
