Matua conference and rural fair held in Narail

NARAIL, Feb 6, 2026 (BSS) – A two-day Matua conference, Harinam Sankirtan, religious Jatra-pala, and a traditional rural fair concluded last night at Raygram in Lohagara upazila of the district.

The 7th annual event was held at the residence of Ashim Pal, President of Hariguruchand Matua Mission Narail district unit and Central Organizing Secretary.

The conference turned into a grand assembly of devotees, aiming to spread the philosophy of humanity of Hariguruchand Thakur and strengthen harmony among Matua followers.

Central President of Matua Mission, Padmanabha Thakur, attended the programme as the chief guest, with Ashim Pal in the chair.

The event was also attended by BNP candidate for Narail-2 constituency Advocate Dr. A.T.M. Fariduzzaman Farhad, former general secretary of district BNP and ‘Kolsi’ symbol candidate Md. Monirul Islam, and district Matua Mission general secretary Dulal Majumdar, among others.

Addressing the session, Matua leaders emphasized raising awareness about the rights of the Matua community and highlighted initiatives such as primary education programmes for their children.

A large number of devotees, including women and children from different parts of the district, participated in the festival.
