RANGPUR, Feb 6, 2026 (BSS) - Three people were killed and 13 others injured in a collision between a truck and a passenger bus in front of Pirganj petrol 
pump on the Dhaka-Rangpur highway under Pirganj upazila in Rangpur at 4:30 am today.
 
The deceased were Rahima Akhter Munni, 35, of Gazipur district, Abdul Razzak Hawlader, 55, and his son Arafat Sani Sanvi, 22, of Haragachh municipality in Kawnia upazila of Rangpur district. 
 
Barodorga Highway Police Station Officer-in-Charge (OC) SM Mizanur Rahman and local eyewitnesses said a truck rammed into the rear of another truck ahead of it, leaving the front portion of the vehicle badly mangled.

At the same time, a Hanif Paribahan passenger bus coming from behind crashed into the damaged truck, leaving one passenger, Rahima Akhter Munni, dead at the scene and at least 13 others injured.

Injured Abdul Razzaque Hawlader of Haragachh municipality in Rangpur was taken to Pirganj Upazila Health Complex and his injured son Arafat Sani Sanvi 
to Rangpur Medical College Hospital, where the doctor on duty declared them dead.
 
After receiving information, the Barodorga Highway Police reached the spot and conducted rescue operations and sent the injured passengers to the 
hospitals. 
 
A case has been filed with Pirganj Police Station in this incident.
