MP-elect BNP leader Tuku is firm to build a terror-free society

SIRAJGANJ, Feb 13, 2026 (BSS) – BNP Standing Committee member and MP-elect from Sirajganj-2 constituency Iqbal Hasan Mahmud Tuku today expressed his firmness that he would build a terror-free society, improve the law and order, and ensure the safety of people's lives and property.

"My main task now is to build a terror-free society . . . It is mandatory to improve law and order and ensure the safety of people's lives and property," he said while addressing a thanksgiving meeting and doa mahfil at the Central Jame Masjid here today coincided with the BNP’s landslide victory in the 13th Jatiya Sangsad (JS) Polls and Referendum 2026 

Expressing his gratefulness to the Almighty Allah, Tuku said by the grace of Allah, people voted him to be a parliament member for the development of Sirajganj.

“Sirajganj will be made a traffic-free, modern and unique city through developing Katakhali here,” he added.

Stressing the importance of drug control, he said, addiction and drugs are the ultimate enemies of human civilization as it destroys life and potential, ignites the fire of unrest in peaceful families and creates lawlessness and unrest in society.

The newly elected MP committed that the lawlessness and unrest in society will be eliminated by destroying the drug dens. 

Pesh Imam of Central Jame Masjid Khatib Mufti Hafez Maulana Abdullah Sorkar conducted the special prayer.

BNP National Executive Committee member and Sirajganj District BNP General Secretary Md Saidur Rahman Bachchu, Vice President Md Maqbul Hossain Chowdhury, Nazmul Hasan Talukder Rana, Senior Joint General Secretary VP Shamim Khan, Joint General Secretary Nur Kayem Sabuj, Joint General Secretary and Sirajganj Press Club President Harun or Rashid Khan Hasan, along with leaders of BNP and its affiliated organizations were present.

Among others, Sirajganj Judge Court PP and District Bar Association President Advocate Rafiq Sorker and Central Jame Mosque Management Committee General Secretary T A Hamid Tanha were also present.
