Assistant Livestock Officer killed in Rajshahi road accident

RAJSHAHI, Feb 22, 2026 (BSS) - An Upazila Assistant Livestock Officer was killed in a road accident in Bagha upazila of Rajshahi district today.

The deceased was identified as Abdur Rashid,57, son of Abdul Gani of Baniapara village under Bagha Pourashava.

According to local sources, the accident occurred when Rashid's motorcycle collided head-on with a battery-run auto-van near Chandipur Bazar in the upazila. He was thrown onto the road, and a microbus coming from behind hit him, leaving him critically injured. 

Locals rescued him and took him to the Upazila Health Complex. As his condition deteriorated, the on-duty physician, Dr. Sazia Khan, referred him to Rajshahi Medical College Hospital. He died on the way to the hospital.
 
Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Bagha Police Station, Serajul Haque, said that a case has been filed under the Road Transport Act, and necessary action will be taken after investigation.
