
RAJSHAHI, Feb 22, 2026 (BSS) - Land Minister Mizanur Rahman Minu has attended an iftar and prayer gathering organized in honor of the families of those martyred in the 2024 July Mass Uprising in Rajshahi.
The event was held on Saturday at the conference room of the Rajshahi Circuit House.
Before the iftar, the minister spent time with members of the martyr families of the July Mass Uprising, inquiring about their well-being, listening to their concerns and grievances, and exchanging greetings.
An emotional atmosphere prevailed in the Circuit House conference room during the meeting.
Addressing the martyr families, the minister said, "The blood of the brave martyrs of the July Revolution will not be allowed to go in vain. Through the sacrifice of these young people, a new horizon has begun in the country. The government stands beside the martyr families and will give the highest priority to their rehabilitation and any other needs."
The program included recollections of the July Mass Uprising and special prayers and supplications in memory of the injured and martyred.
Prayers were offered to Almighty Allah for the peace and prosperity of the country and for the fulfillment of the aspirations of the revolution.
Others present at the iftar included Rajshahi Divisional Commissioner Dr ANM Bazlur Rahman, Rajshahi Deputy Commissioner Afia Akhter, Rajshahi Superintendent of Police Mohammad Naimul Hasan, former mayor of Rajshahi City Corporation Mohammad Mosaddeque Hossain Bulbul, Vice-President of Rajshahi Metropolitan BNP Aslam Sarkar, senior officials of the divisional and district administrations, and family members of three martyrs of the Anti-Discrimination Student Movement, among others.
