State Minister for Agriculture, Food, Fisheries and Livestock Sultan Salauddin Tuku

SAVAR, Feb 22, 2026 (BSS) - State Minister for Agriculture, Food, Fisheries and Livestock Sultan Salauddin Tuku today said the BNP is committed to advancing the country under the leadership of Prime Minister Tarique Rahman.

"With the confidence and support of the people, we want to move the country forward under the leadership of Prime Minister Tarique Rahman," he said.

Tuku made the remarks while inaugurating a five-day orientation course for newly appointed 44th BCS (Livestock) cadre officials at the BCS Livestock Academy in Savar as the chief guest.

He said the BNP has never taken a position contrary to the sentiments and aspirations of the people. Since the country's independence in 1971, the party has played a significant role in various democratic and rights-based movements, he added.

Calling upon the newly appointed cadre officials to serve with dedication, the state minister said they are officials of the state, not of any individual or political party, and safeguarding the country's interests should be their foremost responsibility.

Fisheries and Livestock Secretary Abu Taher Muhammad Zaber attended the event as the special guest. Trainers, including senior officials of the ministry and department, were also present.

Director General of the Department of Livestock Services (DLS) Dr M Abu Sufian presided over the programme.
