One held with 21 kg ganja in Sundarganj

RANGPUR, March 6, 2026 (BSS) - The Department of Narcotics Control (DNC) personnel arrested a man with 21 kg of smuggled ganja from the Ujan Bochatari area under Sundarganj upazila of Gaibandha district this afternoon.
 
Based on a tip-off, a joint team of Rangpur and Gaibandha DNCs searched an auto-rickshaw in the Ujan Bochatari area south of Teesta Bridge in Haripur, Sundarganj upazila, seized the narcotics and arrested the man around 3:30 pm.
 
"The arrestee is Md Abdur Rahim, 39, son of Md Abder Ali of village Kashipur under Phulbari police station of Kurigram district," Deputy Director of the Rangpur DNC Md Abu Jafar, who led the operation, told BSS.
 
Inspector of the DNC Narcotics, Rangpur S M Eltas Uddin filed a case in this incident against the arrested person with Sundarganj police station.
 
"The arrested persons along with the seized drugs have been handed over to the Sundarganj police station," Abu Jafar added.
