Man killed in Noakhali road accident

NOAKHALI, April 9, 2026 (BSS) - A man was killed after being run over by a tractor in Companiganj upazila of the district this morning.
 
The accident took place around 8.00 am in Bagdhara Bazar area along Joralganj Road under Muchapur union.
 
The deceased was identified as Abu Taher alias as Jahangir, 48, son of Abul Hasem from South Muchapur village of the upazila. He was a tea stall owner at Chowdhuryhat Bazar.
 
Jahangir was traveling by motorcycle to Maulvi Bazar. As he reached the Bagdhara Bazar area, a tractor coming from the opposite direction reportedly struck him from the side. The vehicle's wheel ran over his body, leaving him critically injured.
 
Locals rushed him to Companiganj Upazila Health Complex where the on-duty doctor declared him dead.

Officer-in-Charge of Companiganj Police Station Md Nurul Hakim confirmed the matter.
