FENI, April 10, 2026 (BSS) - A mobile court has fined a filling station owner in Daganbhuiyan upazila of Feni district for unlawfully suspending fuel sales, causing public inconvenience.

The operation took place at Sotota Filling Station yesterday, where authorities found that fuel supply had been intentionally halted from 7:00 pm and remained unavailable throughout the night, leading to disruption among local residents.

Around 9:00 pm, a joint team led by the Assistant Commissioner (Land) of Daganbhuiyan, with support from the Bangladesh Army, conducted an operation and ensured that fuel distribution resumed immediately.

Initially, the station owner claimed that the fuel dispensing machine was out of order. However, an on-site inspection revealed that the equipment was fully functional. Authorities deemed the claim misleading and dishonest.

As a result, a fine of Tk 10,000 was imposed under the Petroleum Act, 2016. One case was filed, and an individual was charged during the drive.
