
BANDARBAN, April 11, 2026 (BSS) - Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) has seized 395 liters of octane and 24 sacks of fertilizer that were illegally stockpiled for smuggling during a special operation along the Naikhongchhari border.
According to a BGB press release, a special patrol team from Naikhongchhari Battalion (11 BGB) conducted a coordinated drive from approximately 1:00 AM to 6:00 AM in different areas on Saturday.
During the drive, the team recovered 395 liters of illegally stored octane from the Sonairchhari area.
Simultaneously, the drive team seized 20 sacks of urea fertilizer and 4 sacks of TSP fertilizer from the Time Bazar area.
Preliminary investigations suggest that the seized fuel and fertilizer were intended for smuggling across the border.
Legal procedures regarding the seized items are currently underway.
Commanding Officer of Naikhongchhari Battalion (11 BGB), Lieutenant Colonel Md. Fayzul Kabir, stated that under strict directives from the BGB Director General, operations have been intensified to prevent illegal fuel storage, smuggling, black marketing, and all forms of cross-border crime.
He further added that the battalion remains vigilant and committed to continuing such a drive in the future to ensure border security.
