RpCC Administrator for sustainable development of Rangpur city

RANGPUR, April 13, 2026 (BSS) - Rangpur City Corporation (RpCC) Administrator Advocate Mahfuz Un Nabi Chowdhury Don has reiterated his commitment to work with all concerned for the sustainable development and economic progress of Rangpur city. 
 
He said, “To achieve the development target, we need to strengthen the city’s cleanliness activities, reduce traffic congestion, improve market management and increase the facilities for traders to expand trade and commerce in Rangpur city.”
 
He said this while exchanging views with the leaders of Rangpur Chamber of Commerce and Industry (RpCCI) held at his office to promote business and trade in Rangpur city on Monday afternoon. 
 
Rangpur Chamber of Commerce and Industry President Md Emdad Hossain, Senior Vice-president Manjur Ahmed Azad, Director Md Kamal Hossain, Khemchand Somani Rabi, Rashidus Sultan Bablu, industrialists and businessmen attended the meeting. 
 
The RpCCI leaders and businessmen sought the Rangpur City Corporation Administrator's cooperation to create an investment-friendly environment and increase their convenience to expand trade and commerce in the city. 
 
At this time, the City Corporation administrator, RpCCI leaders and businessmen expressed their determination to work together for the sustainable development and economic progress of Rangpur city. 
 
Advocate Mahfuz Un Nabi Chowdhury Don informed the RpCCI leaders that Rangpur City Corporation is the most neglected in the country. 
 
In the past, the development allocation of this City Corporation was zero. About one million people live in this city. With limited manpower and capacity, work is being done to ensure their citizen services. 
 
“We are working as much as possible with limited resources to ensure a business-friendly environment in Rangpur city as well as sustainable development of the City Corporation,” he said.
 
He sought everyone's cooperation for this purpose.
