RCC Administrator inspects ongoing development works

RAJSHAHI, April 19, 2026 (BSS) -Rajshahi City Corporation (RCC) Administrator Mahfuzur Rahman Riton today inspected several ongoing development projects under the Integrated Urban Infrastructure Development Project in the city.

The inspection covered key sites, including the under-construction Haragram Railway Crossing flyover, development activities at Haragram Graveyard, and infrastructure works such as road carpeting, drainage systems, footpaths, road dividers, railings, and retaining walls stretching from Kathalbariya intersection through Hi-Tech Park to the mini stadium near I-bandh.

During the visit, the RCC Administrator directed officials to ensure completion of the projects within the stipulated timeframe while maintaining proper quality standards.

Speaking to journalists, Mahfuzur Rahman said he has been entrusted with the responsibility of ensuring civic services and is working to expedite ongoing development works.

He expressed hope that construction of the Haragram Railway Crossing flyover would be completed soon and opened to traffic, adding that the engineering department has been instructed to accelerate progress on other flyovers and projects under a 30-day action plan.

The administrator also said cleaning and mosquito control drives have been intensified across all 30 wards of the city. A 15-day crash programme using fogger machines has already been carried out to curb mosquito infestation.

He said steps have been taken to procure additional insecticides and fogger machines, and similar spraying activities will be conducted simultaneously in different wards in the future.

Mahfuzur Rahman called for cooperation from all quarters to help present Rajshahi as a model city on the global stage.

RCC Chief Executive Officer Rezaul Karim, Superintending Engineer Khairul Baker, Sub-Assistant Engineer Sanarul Islam, and other officials and local dignitaries were present during the inspection.
