
CHUADANGA, April 23, 2026 (BSS) - A day-long seminar and training workshop on 'Presentation of Objective News' was held in Chuadanga with the participation of journalists from print and electronic media.
The event, organized by the Bangladesh Press Council, took place at the Chuadanga Circuit House Conference Room at 10.00 am today.
Chairman of the Press Council Justice AKM Abdul Hakim inaugurated the seminar as the chief guest.
In his speech, he emphasized that neutrality and objectivity are fundamental to professional journalism. He said that accurate and information-based reporting plays a vital role in strengthening democratic processes and urged journalists to adhere to the Press Council's code of conduct to prevent misreporting.
The program was presided over by Deputy Commissioner Lutfun Nahar while Press Council Superintendent Sakhawat Hossain moderated the session. Superintendent of Police Mohammad Ruhul Kabir Khan attended as special guest.
In her remarks, Deputy Commissioner Lutfun Nahar praised local journalists for their commitment to objective reporting and stressed the importance of verifying information. She also highlighted the need to reject yellow journalism and discussed the evolving challenges of journalism in the digital age.
Secretary of the Press Council, Md. Abdus Sabur, served as a resource person. He provided guidance on news writing techniques, addressing legal issues, and the role of the Press Council in safeguarding journalists' rights.
Journalists from various national dailies, local newspapers, and electronic media outlets in Chuadanga district participated in the workshop. Certificates were distributed among participants at the end of the program.
