CHATTOGRAM, April 26, 2026 (BSS) - The District Legal Aid Office in Chattogram has organised various programmes to observe National Legal Aid Day.

The initiative aims to raise awareness about the government’s free legal aid services for financially disadvantaged individuals who are unable to access justice due to socio-economic constraints.

The Bangladesh National Legal Aid Services Organisation observes April 28 as ‘National Legal Aid Day’ every year. To mark the occasion in Chattogram, a rally will begin at 9 am from the District Judge Court premises.

The rally will be attended by senior officials from various government and private institutions, including judges, the Metropolitan Police Commissioner, the Deputy Commissioner, the Superintendent of Police, and members of the District Legal Aid Committee.

In addition, a legal aid fair will be held at 9 am on the same day in the parking area of the Chief Judicial Magistrate Court building.

At 9:30 am, a discussion on the significance of the day will be held, followed by the awarding of the best panel lawyers at the conference room of the district judge court.
