DHAKA, April 26, 2026 (BSS) - The government has appointed senior journalist Syed Abdal Ahmed as the Principal Information Officer (Grade-1) of the Press Information Department (PID) under the Ministry of Information.
In this regard, the Public Administration Ministry issued a notification today.
Syed Abdal Ahmed is currently serving as the Executive Editor of the daily Amar Desh. The veteran journalist previously served as the General Secretary of the Jatiya Press Club and Deputy Press Secretary of former Prime Minister Begum Khaleda Zia.
However, the appointment was made on a contractual basis for one year term from the date of his joining and on condition that he must severe all other professional, business or employment ties with any government, semi-government or private institution or organization.
