DMP files 1,403 cases over traffic rule violations

DHAKA, April 26, 2026 (BSS) - The Traffic Division of Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) has filed a total of 1,403 cases across the capital for traffic rule violations.

The cases were filed on April 25 during a routine drive against traffic rule violators, according to a DMP press release issued today.

During the campaign, traffic police also dumped 319 motor vehicles and towed 150 vehicles.

The release said Ramna Traffic Division filed 67 cases, Lalbagh 163, Motijheel 390, Wari 119, Tejgaon 184, Mirpur 310, Uttara 105 and Gulshan 65 cases against motor vehicles, three-wheelers and motorcycles.

It added that the drives will continue to ensure discipline on Dhaka's streets and smooth movement for city dwellers.

The DMP Traffic Division is working to streamline the traffic system in the capital to ensure easier movement for city residents, it further added.
